Advanced Standardized Field
Sobriety Testing Update
This advanced training course is designed for
those who wish to update and improve their knowledge regarding
the standardized field sobriety tests
(SFST's) and other drugs that impair. In addition to updating
SFST skills, the student will participate in developing the
impaired driving case from the
videotape and paperwork analysis to application of tactical
direct and cross examination techniques applied in mock trial
settings. The course is open onlyto defense attorneys and
their designated support staff who have successfully completed
a NHTSA certified SFST Practitioner course.
This course will train the legal professional in: Review and
update skills in the SFST's; review of the seven drug
categories and their observable signs and
symptoms, technical case analysis (video and paperwork
review), case preparation, presentation and trial tactics,
direct and cross examination
techniques, and mock trial exercises to develop trial skills.
